"Beaten Paths Are For Beaten Men"

After spending 13 years as managing director of my
own company, I decided to sell the business
as a going concern. I felt I needed a change and a new challenge.
I had developed a real passion for all things IT related so after qualifying, I
started a private IT consultancy business. This involved teaching and training
individuals and small business owners how to benefit from the use of computers
and in particular the Internet, email and websites.
My advertising and promotional material was so successful that I was having to
turn people away! I soon realised I had a talent for writing and went on to
write a PC guide for beginners. I sold about 3 thousand copies of my book through mail order
using well honed direct sales copy.
My passion for IT continued to grow,
and I began to
teach small classes of individuals and small business
owners the ins and outs of all Microsoft Office applications, desktop publishing
and web page design. I even wrote an e-commerce course for up and coming
marketers, and almost all my 'students' bought a copy of my PC tutorial.
Through my previous business ventures and my work in
IT, I had compiled a database of numerous small business owners. This
was to be my target audience for my new book, 'Ad-Master'.
'Ad-Master' is an advertising manual specially written for small businesses. To cut a long
story short, I sold many thousands of copies to small businesses all over the
country. My sales letters were working!
In January 1991 I set up
Anglox Publications a writing and publishing business, producing tutorials
and manuals for small businesses and entrepreneurs. I was writing the material,
the sales copy and the ad copy. In 1995 I moved the business online and built my
first website. In the same year I was joined by Tom Churchill, a web designer
from Falkirk, Scotland, who took over all things Internet and IT related,
allowing me to concentrate fully on copywriting. I have now been a professional
full-time copywriter for almost 17 years.
Over the years my writing style has evolved in
order to keep pace with web technologies and the many diverse
products and services being offered on the Internet. Subsequently, I now have a
list of clients based in the UK, US, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand,
Philippines and many Eastern and Western European countries.
And you know something? I haven't needed to spend
one single penny on advertising in 10 years! What does that tell you? Unlike
many other copywriters, you won't see a paid ad for my services in any Google,
Yahoo or MSN search you do, for copywriting, copywriting services, copywriting
services uk, copywriting for web pages and many, many other keywords and keyword
phrases.
If you're looking for sales or ad copy, a press
release or web content, articles or emails for your autoresponder or even a
ghostwriter for your next book, contact me for an
informal discussion and a free no-obligation quote.
